English/Language Arts (ELA) 8th grade

Course Description:
Eighth Grade Language Arts offers a rigorous curriculum designed to develop and strengthen students’ skills in literature analysis, critical thinking, reading comprehension, and communication through writing, speaking, and listening. Students will learn to write arguments, informative texts, and narratives, preparing them to be college- and career-ready writers. The course emphasizes the strategic use of technology for creating, refining, and collaborating on writing. By the end of the year, students will engage with a variety of texts, including short stories, drama, nonfiction, poetry, and novels, preparing them for a smooth transition to high school.
