AVID Introduction

Course Description:

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is designed to prepare self-determined students for college and career readiness.  The AVID Elective class is designed to support students in school as the academic work becomes more rigorous.  Students will learn organizational and study skills, develop critical thinking, learn to ask probing questions, receive academic help from peers and college tutors, and participate in enrichment and motivational activities to make their college dreams a reality.  AVID students are supportive of each other and tend to be leaders within the community.
