Course Description:
The Leader in Me Student Lighthouse is a Homeroom course, not an elective, which meets every morning during Homeroom.  Lighthouse students are selected based on their application and teacher recommendations to grow their leadership skills by using the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. Students learn about and use each Habit to create live lessons that they teach their peers during Homeroom once a month, create weekly announcements for Habit reminders, lead new student tours, work in collaboration with PTSA & School Site Council for student representation as well as host and plan the annual 6th Grade Orientation. Students also plan and host a Leadership Day where they showcase for parents and the school community all of the creative and effective ways Mustangs are leaders.
